Being the Hands and Feet

Immediate prayers and support are needed for this precious family. Bob and Diane Higbie have been in process of adopting a little girl from Russia and have been met with several setbacks. It has been a weary journey of jumping through hoops and many long waits. After much prayer and the Lord's leading they were provided with everything necessary to go to Russia. Finally feeling relief and anticipation they soon found out that the funds that were raised for their adoption to Lera would not be released to them. Today as we prayed as a group and have been rallying efforts to bless them and love them through this, Lillian, their youngest became very sick and was airlifted to Mayo in Rochester where she is now critical but stable condition with pneumonia. She already has a heart condition and prayers are needed that her lung condition will not press on her heart causing anymore problems.
Bob and Diane are humble people and I have been blessed to call Diane my friend for two years now. I want to tell you from my heart, a bit about this couple because I want you to understand why I am moved as I am. Every interaction I have ever had with Diane has involved praising God. EVERY TIME! In her exhaustion, in her celebrating, through her tears....she thanks God and she trusts Him. And why I can trust her word is because the grace on her lips for even those who have harmed her brings truth and peace to my spirit. She has not sought self defense and often has even drawn criticism for sharing less than others would like but she is steadfast in faith. If it doesn't glorify God, she doesn't want it.
My own heart has grown from her friendship and so I stand by her as she faces attacks from the enemy because it is an HONOR to be at her side. Over and again I have felt in this battle that like Jehoshaphat, they would stand firm and watch God deliver them from their enemy. This battle belongs to him. Just as Bob and Diane have chosen a life to be the hands and feet for Christ to care for the least, so we have an opportunity to be the hands and feet for Bob and Diane in their time of need.
Many who have heard of their plight have been convening on their behalf to discuss how to help. After discussions from leaders of other ministries and organizations have not brought forth the release of their funds as was hoped, a new rally has been established to breathe new life and to let them know that we haven't given up on their little Lera in Russia. Project Hopeful has an ongoing fund that is building and you can read and find out more how to donate that way through Bob and Diane's blog at savinglera.blogspot.com. Grace Haven also has a matching grant up to $1,000 of which $580 has been raised. You can help match at www.gracehavenhome.com and click on the Donate button. Please specify Lera when you donate. Our prayer tonight is that Bob and Diane can keep their focus on Lillian and that we can bless them by carrying the cause for Lera. Please pray for this family, their daughter Lillian, and for Lera so far away yet growing right inside of Bob and Diane's heart as we speak. And please pray for their enemies too that they would turn to God and humble themselves and receive forgiveness. Cries of mercy with judgment touches the heart of God.
